New Product Sunday: MPU-6050, LM2596S Power Supply & Arduino Pro Mini

A lot of great additions to our lineup this week. is slowly becoming an electronics store as well as a platform for enthusiasts and hobbyists to enjoy. This week, we wanted to focus on bringing you some of the modules which were used in previous tutorials: the LM2596A DC-DC Step Down Power Supply and the Arduino Pro Mini. Also, the MPU-6050, which will be covered in a future tutorial, is also available.

MPU-6050 Accelereometer Gyroscope ModuleAvailable Here: MPU-6050 Accelerometer & Gyroscope
The first module in this weeks lineup is the 6 degrees of freedom MPU-6050. It features a single IC integration of an accelerometer, gyroscope and temperature sensors. This particular module has been widely used for quadcopters and self balancing robots. It has proven to be reliable and very easy to use. You can easily get all the data you need over a simple I2C bus!

Here are some of the key features of this particular module:

  • Digital-output X-, Y-, and Z-Axis angular rate sensors (gyroscopes) with a user-programmable fullscale range of ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000°/sec
  • Digital-output triple-axis accelerometer with a programmable full scale range of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g and ±16g
  • 9-Axis MotionFusion by the on-chip Digital Motion Processor (DMP)
  • 3.9mA operating current when all 6 motion sensing axes and the DMP are enabled

LM2596S DC-DC 3-40V STEP-DOWN POWER SUPPLY MODULEAvailable Here: LM2596S Power Supply
This particular module has been seen in one of our motor driver tutorials. It is extremely useful in getting those low voltages (1.8v, 3.3v, etc.) onto your project. The module is fully adjustable, which means that you can vary your input sources, but still get the same voltage.

Here are some of the key features of this particular module:

  • Input: DC 3V to 40V (input voltage must be higher than the output voltage by 1.5v)
  • Output: DC 1.5V to 35V voltage continuously adjustable, high-efficiency maximum output current of 3A.

Arduino Pro Mini 5v 16MhzAvailable Here: ARDUINO PRO MINI 5V/16MHZ
The pro mini is a great inexpensive module which you can leave permanently in your projects. It is small, easily programmable and has every single functionality any Arduino Uno would. We are proud to have found a good supply of this module and being able to provide it to our customers.

Here are some of the key features of this particular module:

  • ATmega328 running at 16MHz with on-board crystal (0.5% tolerance)
  • Compact form factor 3.2 x 1.8 x 2 mm

We hope that you’ve enjoyed this weeks lineup. Stay tuned for more modules and feel free to comment with what you would like to see next from EEEnthusiast!
